Step by step
- Check that both measurements use the same unit.
- Subtract the shorter length from the longer length.
- State the difference with its unit and check by adding it to the shorter length.
Example
A blue strip is 12 cm long and a green strip is 8 cm long. How many centimeters longer is the blue strip?
