Count the beats in spoken words

The idea

Say the whole word naturally, then clap its spoken parts. Count beats, not written letters.

Step by step
  1. Ask an adult to pronounce the word; these questions need spoken support.
  2. Repeat it slowly and clap each syllable once.
  3. Count the claps and say the word normally again.

Example

An adult says rabbit: rab-bit. How many syllable beats?

Answer
