ONE WAY TO THINK ABOUT IT

Use three doubles.

8 × 3: double 3 to 6, double 6 to 12, then double 12 to 24. Show the grouping as you go.

Try this together

Compare an 8s fact with the matching 4s fact.

Say the complete fact, draw or build its groups, then try it again without the picture. It is fine to return to a known fact when an answer feels uncertain.

NOW TRY A FEW

Practise the 8s in a small set.
